I think he's hit the point entirely. The point of Brawn wasn't just that progressive poundage training works, it was more that one should use progressive poundage as an indication that what they are doing is right.
Hence if one does follow
-overtraining is a concern that we must realise
-rest and recovery are important
-big weights does not necessarily imply big muscle gain
-change your workout frequently
Then you'll get bigger. The point of the book wasn't hey jackass eat Mcdonalds every day do **** all but make sure you work in progressive poundages and evrything will be fan - ****ing - tastic. I think you missed the point of the book.
'when your poundages stagnate or regress,you are doing something wrong, even if you are training full bore!'
The point of this statement is that you need to analyze your training and dietary regimen if you stagnate by changing your eating or workout habits as Nick suggested. I think the point of the book was to focus on your progressive increases not that they are the be all and end all of BB. |
