Agreed, calorie dense food would be a great start. Fruit is not ideal for someone in your position, I found it hard when my stomach shrunk and I used to get full on 1 apple!!!, but in time I stretched my stomach and I never get full now.
Try getting some maltodextrin powder to add to your protein shakes (not the most ideal of carb sources for general use due to the high G.I. but its a start)
