I have been attending a gym for approx 2 months and due to current circumstances would like to cancel it. However, when i signed the contract (which btw is a 1 year contract) i was told i could not cancel it unless i paid myself out for the remaining months that i would have left.

I have been told that I can cancel it by cancelling my bank account (reporting that ive lost my bank card) and then they cannot take any money out of my account.
What do you think will happen if I report my bank card lost?
The two months that I have been there have been paid off and also this month (august) has been paid off, of which I havent even gone to the gym.
I DO NOT want to pay the rest of the year off which will be more than 200.
