Cardio.
I used to avoid cardio because I felt I got enough cardiovascular work through my athletis pursuits outside of weightlifting/bodybuilding. I mountain bike in the summer and ski (downhill & cross-country) in the winter. However, due to other commitments, I was not able to engage in those outdoor activities regularly.
I then convinced myself that I need to save my strength for training and any cardio work would inhibit gains and interfere with recovery.
The truth of the matter is that cardio (within reason) actually IMPROVES my weightlifting. Better endurance during deadlifts and squats. Better pumps due to improved circulation. Better recovery. I can consume more calories (more growth) without getting fat. My blood pressure goes down. I feel healthier and look better.
That said...it sometimes bores the hell out of me.
