No not at all in fact a lot of Scottish people have Irish ancestors, as Irish people migrated to Scotland in large numbers.
A lot of modern Scottish culture has roots in Ireland, for instance Celtic and Rangers the two main Football teams in Glasgow have a rivarly that goes beyond just football.
It goes back to Protestant and Catholic hostlities in Ireland with Celtic representing Catholic and Rangers Protestant and both teams are supported just as fiercly in say Belfast as they are in Glasgow.
I also found this on a website search that you may find of interest.
"The term "Scotch-Irish" is an Americanism, generally unknown in Scotland and Ireland, and rarely used by British historians. In American usage, it refers to people of Scottish descent who, having lived for a time in the north of Ireland, migrated in considerable numbers to the American colonies in the eighteenth century." The Scotch-Irish, A Social History, pg. i - James G. Leyburn.
So next time some no neck with no brain in his head shows his ignorance of your heritage you can set him straight
