i used to run a diesel on kerosene (5 gallon kerosene mixed with a pint of diesel engine oil). It ran reasonably okay for some time but after a year of it the engine didnt sound too great also engine performance was not as good as with diesel. The thing I noticed is that some diesels are more forgiving than others as far as kerosene is concerned (I know renaults just didnt like it very much).
Bear in mind a lot of kerosene is dyed yellow - if customs and excise dip your tank - they will recognise it... |
