I bet you could get you're waist size down by training you're abs. You wouldn't be losing fat but you'd strengthen and pull in your stomach. Also if you've only just started training then all the extra energy expediture will help with the fat loss, as long as your diet is clean. I reckon that if there's a time when you can build muscle and lose fat it's when you're starting out!
